Help us plan…
F.A.Q.
What is SkepStitch?
SkepStitch is an informal gathering of skeptics, critical and rational thinkers who come together to work on their project, learn or teach a skill, and hang out or network with like minded individuals. Discussion topics will range from the top skeptic news of the week, participant selected topics, or anything else we feel like!
What can I do to help?
We need people to spread the word about SkepStitch! Please share via any means possible: facebook, twitter, your personal blog, or maybe you know someone in the Philly area who would be interested. Get the information out there!
Is SkepStitch only for women?
No! Although one of SkepStitch's missions is to increase the involvement of women in the skeptical community, it is by no means restricted to women alone.
Is SkepStitch only for adults?
No! Our goal is to be able to incorporate a large age range of participants. We are currently examining possible library or community center meetup locations that might be able to accommodate smaller children for any SkepParents out there.
What crafts can I work on?
Some crafts are more portable than others. Crafts such as knitting, crochet, needlework, cross-stitch, beading, scrapbooking, jewelry making, origami (or paper aircraft making) may work in our setting. Whatever you bring, please make sure it does not take up more room than a personal sized area and that it does not generate a significant mess (catastrophic or otherwise). If you do make a small mess please make sure to clean up after yourself.
Help! I don't craft but I really want to be a part of SkepStitch!
That's perfectly ok! You have two options. Either you can come and just hang out with us while we craft, or you can find a mentor within SkepStitch to help you learn a new craft.
